Oh, if we could come to trust the timing of even that which we despise, and that which crushes and hurts us. It is both the most difficult, and most blessed and peace-creating act that exists. There is never a good time for a tragedy, and the time is always right for a surprise gift. But there is still a moment when it is more perfect than others, and there are hints, but retrospect is usually the only way we understand these clues. So all we can do is breathe, live, and be our best. Melody

Janette -- while listening to the book can be helpful -- focusing only on where we want to be isn't where our miracle is. Your miracle is inside you, and surrendering to where you are is such a sheer act of faith that we begin to move toward where we want to be. I was so peaceful by the time my miracles came that I really didn't notice -- because I didn't need anything external to be peaceful or happy anyore. There is nothing more sure to bring peace than surrendering to each moment and how we feel, and who we are. Just like there is nothing more guaranteed to bring frustration than looking outside ourselves for our joy. Melody

Janette, I KNOW getting out all those emotions will get you where you want to be. And the length of time you've been repressing your emotions will have a lot to do with how long it takes to find peace and connect with your power. Try not to focus on where you want to be -- and instead focus on the gratitude practice and where you are right now. If we've been pushing our feelings away for years -- we're not going to soar free overnight. But digging out all that "junk' inside, accepting yourself as completely okay for having those feelings, and being willing to feel uncomfortable and even express gratitude for that (getting away from this is good, this is bad, etc.) is the path to where we want and need to go. I promise. Melody

I listened to Making Miracles twice, and have been writing for about 2 1/2 months, My miracle hasn't happened...yet, but I do sense a change, just a little in me. My writing has made my cry almost daily and I think that is probably good... so much pain in my life at the moment, but I think it was under the surface and now coming out, even as I write this. I want to change and I don't want to repeat same mistakes over and over, I hoping getting out the blocked emotions will ultimately help. thank you Medody

GG -- Did you send in the validation email after registering? I will go in the backroom, find your name, erase it, and then register for you -- giving you an online identity (which cannot be changed) and a temporary password (which can be changed). I'll send you an email telling you what your id and temp pw are. BUT -- NOW LISTEN CAREFULLY -- You will receive an email but it may go to your junkmail. Check both boxes. Open the email, and click on the "validation" link. That should get your registered. However, I've got three people I'm going it for -- and I want to do all three at once. I'm waiting to hear from the other two -- but I will do it tonight. TO EVERYONE WHO SAID THEY WERE HAVING PROBLEMS REGISTERING -- WE TOOK SOME STEPS TO GET RID OF THE SPAMMERS AND DON'T THINK IT SHOULD HAVE AFFECTED REGISTRATION, BUT MAYBE IT DID. THAT'S NOW BEING CHECK. MEANWHILE, I WILL REGISTER FOR YOU, SEND YOU AN EMAIL, BUT YOU ALSO HAVE TO WATCH FOR AN EMAIL FROM THE SITE CONTAINING A VALIDATION LINK. SEND THAT EMAIL IN FIRST, OR CLICK ON THE LINK IN THE EMAIL FIRST (THAT KEEPS SPAMMERS AWAY -- IS WHY WE DO IT -- A BOT CAN'T CLICK ON A LINK; ONLY A PERSON CAN.).

SO, IF YOU'VE BEEN HAVING TROUBLE REGISTERED AND POSTED HERE ABOUT IT, WATCH YOUR INBOXES FOR TWO EMAILS -- ONE FROM ME, TELLING YOU WHAT YOUR ID AND TEMPORARY PASSWORD ARE (BUT WAIT ON THAT) AND ANOTHER FROM THE SITE ASKING THAT YOU VALIDATE YOUR REGISTRATION BY CLICKING ON THE LINK IN THAT EMAIL. DO THAT -- BUT FIRST MOVE THE EMAIL TO YOUR INBOX OR IT WON'T WORK. THEN, AFTER YOU'VE BEEN VALIDATED, USE THE USER NAME AND PASSWORD I SET UP FOR YOU TO GET INTO THE SITE. AT THAT POINT, YOU CAN CREATE A NEW PASSWORD. ANY OTHERS HAVING PROBLEMS, LET ME KNOW. AGAIN, MAYBE SOMETHING GOT MESSED UP WHEN WE CHASED OUT THE LAST GROUP OF SPAMMERS. I'M NOT YELLING WITH ALL CAPS -- JUST TRYING TO GET THE ATTENTION OF EVERYONE ON THIS SITE SO WE CAN SOLVE THE PROBLEM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Melody Beattie and Chip

Okay, did you click the small box at the end of registration where you agree to the TOS (Terms of Service)? If you didn't, but clicked the "submit" button, then your name would be registered, but not properly. How about this. Let's wait for a couple hours, until I hear from the other person, then I'll go in, remove the original registrations, register both of you, click on the accept terms of service. But it will be your job to watch for the validation email in your junk mail or regular inbox, and click on that link. (I'll send you an email telling you what your id name and password is.) Then, after you're in, you can change your password. We'll get you in, either tonight or tomorrow. I think I need to put the "Accepting Terms of Service" in bigger print. But also, if that's not the problem, please let me know.

Hi Janette. Did you 1) click on the validation email either in your junk mail or in your email inbox, and send it back to the site? And also when you registered, did you click on the "I agree to the Terms of Service" box what down on the left side at the end? It's easy to forget either. If you did that, just post it and I'll go in, take out your initial registration, and reregister for you -- but you'll still have to watch for the validation email in your junk mail or inbox. Okay? But first, look for that email. But if you didn't check the "agree to Terms of Service" box, then we'll probably need to start all over from scratch. No big deal. We'll get it fixed.

Re your miracles, have you noticed any changes? Are you writing down all those emotions you don't want to share -- even with yourself, and practicing gratitude for everything in your life (that's to get you to acceptance and surrender so you can connect with your power). Once you get on the site, read about some other people's experiences. I usually do at least two run through's of the 40 days -- and also, I don't always get the miracle I want (or I get one I wasn't aware that I wanted) -- it's like what I really wanted, but didn't know. Also, did you make a goal list and miracle list before you began, and then put it away and let it go? The most important part though is surrendering to and being grateful for 1) yourself; 2) however you feel; and 3) whatever is going on in your life -- and your true feelings about it as is? You never have to feel grateful for a tragedy, but you can express gratitude for how awful you feel about it. This exercise isn't intended to trivialize people's pain; it's to combine the best of both the recovery and the spiritual principles. Plus I know it works.

For now though, let's get you in the site. Support can be a huge help with this, as can reading about other people's experience with the exercise.
